Have you spotted Spotify?

06.10.09 by Zeitgeist

It recently came to light that a friend of mine knew nothing about Spotify. Surely this is a cardinal sin against music, let alone technology?

For those of you also unfortunate enough to be in the dark about one of, if not the, greatest internet based music sites in recent history then read on.

To begin with Spotify is all about streaming music which means you don't actually own the music but rather play it directly off the website. No downloading. No Packaging. No mess.

Secondly, it's managed to reinstate the joy of the playlist. When cassettes were outmoded by CDs and CD by the MP3, the humble playlist could have died a death. Thankfully Spotify allows you to upload and create playlists for friends, family and any members of the opposite sex you're trying to impress.

Lastly, Spotfiy has to be the home of the guilty pleasure. Duran Duran, The Spice Girls, even the soundtrack to every Disney film under the sun; with Spotify you can listen at leisure to the songs you want nobody else to know about without leaving a trace.

Download Spotify (www.spotify.com) now and I swear you'll never look back. Oh yeh, and it's completely free.
